You should know that this finish is twice as thick and hard as typical baked finish is guaranteed for life, offering superior durability and UV protection. You are purchasing a maintenance free finish design that will last a lifetime and prevent rust, unlike steel or iron fencing. The vertical pickets that we use in the commercial grade Ultra Aluminum. fence are 3/4 inch square with an .055 wall thickness and the 3 horizontal rails are much heavier than residential. They are actually 1-1/4 inch x 1-3/8 inch with top wall of .065 and side walls of .088. This fence is generally installed on 2 1/2 in.² post. The post are normally 2 1/2 foot to 3 foot longer than the height of the fence so that you have enough post to go into the ground where you must cement this fence in.
